Our performing art department’s mission is to foster an environment in which campers feel safe to express their creative selves, develop empathy, listening skills, and a “yes, and” attitude. Our focus is on the process, not the product as we work towards productions that empower our girls. We believe that everyone is inherently creative and through our three distinct, but collaborative programs, we give Robindel campers opportunities to express their creativity.
Our fun dance program focuses mostly on jazz and hip-hop styles. Campers learn dance moves and routines that they have the chance to show off in our theatre shows, as well as at the ever popular Dance-Off inter-camps. Each summer the Robindel Dance Off features over 200 dancers from around New Hampshire and Maine!
Our music program is small and focused. We have ukeleles, guitars, drums and keyboards as well as opportunities to write lyrics and play songs with friends. Whether learning a new instrument or mastering an old one, camp is a great place to learn and have fun with music. Girls can demonstrate their newly learned music skills in our theatre shows, at campfire, and of course at our talent shows! We love seeing campers and staff join together to play music as the sun sets on another magical day at Robindel.
Our theatre program at Robindel encourages girls of all ages and abilities to participate in theatre games, workshops and productions, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Campers learn about acting, singing, costumes, stage make-up, lighting, sound, scenery and working cohesively to put on productions for the whole camp to enjoy.
