Campers and counselors alike eagerly anticipate “breakout” when counselor leaders are revealed and team assignments are announced. Campers love being a part of a team that includes girls from all age groups, with camper leaders elected from Robinson and Juniper, our two oldest cabins.
Each Sunday (and some Saturdays too!), everybody dresses in their team color ready to compete in a fun range of activities. Many Blue & White activities are unique Robindel games designed to make it easier for all children to play and enjoy. Sundays are highly spirited days at camp with constant cheering, singing and encouraging of others.
Having B&W all summer long rather than an end of summer colorwar week allows for more friendly competition, leadership development, and weekly anticipation of exciting team activities.
“Even though we’re on different teams we are all still friends, and it’s so much fun.”
Special Blue & White events include Apache Relays, the Track Meet, Swim Meets and the biggest event of all – The Blue and White Sing held at the end of the summer. The Sing is the culminating event of Blue & White, commemorating the end of competition, and summer. The Sing always ends with tears flowing and lots of hugs as the Blue & White teams unite and sing “hey, ho Blue and White got soul…”
